BENNETT BANK WIND TURBINE CONSTRUCTION

Sirius Environmental is pleased to announce the successful delivery of its project management construction and commissioning services for Sirius Renewable Energy’s new Bennett Bank wind turbine. The scheme is located at FCC Environments Bennett Bank Landfill Site, Cumbria. The construction project followed Sirius Planning successfully securing planning permission for the 500kW wind turbine at the site.

Working in conjunction with the other Sirius teams, during the construction phase, our specialists provided a full range of project delivery services, including:

  • Discharge of planning conditions
  • Estates management in securing easements and wayleave consents
  • CDM Regulations
  • Civil engineering design
  • Contract administration
  • Construction project management
  • Balance of Plant construction – Sirius Remediation

Bennett  Bank is the sixth Sirius wind turbine construction project we’ve successfully provided design and project management services for in the past two years.

This project also involved the construction of a new access road which will also benefit the local fishing club and equestrian centre and the installation of a 850m cable run to connect the turbine to the electricity distribution network. With the demainding project programme as a result of strict Feed in Tariff deadlines, the project could not have been delivered under these circumstances without the effective teamworking of the Sirius Group companies and the landowner FCC Environment
