Burton Wold Wind Farm Planning

Date: May/28/2015

Our renewable energy experts have secured planning permission for a revision to an existing windfarm, having been asked by our clients at Infinergy to undertake the application process to increase the size of turbines in order to deliver additional capacity for the production of renewable electricity.

Planning permission for new wind farm project

Located at Burton Wold near Kettering, the development was for a 8.55MW wind farm:

  • 3 x GE 2.85/103 turbines
  • 85 megawatts (MW) capacity from each turbine
  • Turbine tip heights of 136.5m

Our support…

Drawing on our in-depth knowledge and experience, our team prepared and conducted:

  • The planning application
  • The Environmental Statement
  • Community engagement activities

While the scheme was previously consented, our work on the project effectively enables the optimisation of the layout design, by replacing 5 wind turbines with 3 larger and more efficient turbines. This improved scheme will see an increase the overall electricity production at the site by over 20%.
