Millbank Court Housing – Landscape Regeneration

Date: September/22/2016

Sirius Planning is pleased to announce the successful delivery of a green space improvement project at a sheltered housing scheme in the north west of England on behalf of Places for People.

Project Background

The property temporarily houses homeless families and those with complex needs whilst they are awaiting a permanent home. The private recreational spaces at the property were out dated and too small to cope with the number of families who needed external areas to safely play and relax in. Sirius Planning (landscape architectural services) were tasked with designing an extended recreational area at the property.

Our Landscape and Planning Services

Working in conjunction with the client and housing support services, our specialists provided a full range of design services including:

  • Stakeholder consultation
  • Planning liaison
  • Landscape design services (RIBA Stages A – L)
  • Contract administration

The green spaces around the property were successfully extended and reconfigured to meet the current needs of the residents. New features created included a multi-use play zone incorporating natural play features and the existing trees, vegetable and flower growing areas, adventure tracks and a formal garden area.
