Sirius Environmental (formerly Stratus Environmental) is pleased to announce the successful delivery of a project management construction and commissioning services for Sirius Renewable Energys new Lounge wind turbine. The scheme is located at a former coal handling facility owned by Harworth Estates near Ashby de la Zouch.
In November 2015, the 77m high 500kw EWT DW54 turbine was connected to the grid, and we’re delighted to report on the project’s success, providing low carbon renewable energy to the local electricity network. It also offers the potential to supply electricity to a distribution centre that’s in development planning stage, which will be situated on adjacent land also owned by Harworth Estates.
This particular wind turbine project went to appeal stage, so we’re especially proud of our achievements in this case. Our work on the project over a number of years took the process from initial concept, to feasibility studies, eventually securing that all-important planning permission.
Working in conjunction with the broader Sirius teams, during the construction phase, our specialists provided a full range of project delivery services, including:
We also worked alongside our partners at Infinite Renewables, who were provided electrical design and commissioning support.
Lounge is the third Sirius wind turbine construction project we’ve successfully provided design and project management services for in 2015.
