Sirius Civil Engineering – Assistant Buyer (Durham)

Due to the continued expansion, Sirius Civil Engineering are recruiting an Assistant Buyer to join the team.

 

The Role
Training will be provided in buying and procurement across several multi-million-pound sites across the North East & Yorkshire. Typical duties include:

    • • Liaise with the site teams to ensure best practice for the procurement of materials
  • • Procure goods and services to be delivered to construction sites
  • • Raise purchase orders
  • • Liaise with suppliers on a daily basis
  • • Deal with any purchase order/invoice issues, following them through to resolution
  • • Administer material order documentation
  • • Carry out general administrative responsibilities within the department
  • • Implement, monitor and update procurement programme/schedule
  • • Report and co-ordinate deliveries to site management teams
  • • Issue, record and manage tender enquiries and quotations for the Estimating department
  • • Provide support as necessary to the buyers where fluctuations in workload demand

 

The Candidate

Applicants must have a passion for a career in civil engineering/construction and have an appetite to develop their career through continued professional development. Candidates must possess the following skills:

  • • Excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be dealing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • • IT literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • • High level of academic skills demonstrated via GCSE results or similar including Grade A in mathematics
  • • A methodical worker, with a natural ability to problem-solving
  • • Excellent IT skills

Requirements
Candidates should hold a full current driving licence.

The position will be based at our Durham office:

Full-time
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm
Holidays: 21 days plus 8 days bank holidays
