Press Releases - "Bigger HQ for land remediation firm"

They are helping to revive some of Yorkshire's deprived areas by making contaminated land safe for homes and businesses.

Now land remediation firm Sirius Engineering Group is gearing up for growth after moving into a new regional headquarters in Thorpe Park, Leeds.

Sirius has moved from its old HQ in Bramham near Leeds to a larger, 4,000 sq ft regional HQ.  The company hopes to increase annual turnover from £14m to £19m this year, while staff numbers are expected to rise from 110 to 135 over the same period.

The company, which was founded in 2003, will continue to provide land remediation services from its two other North of England bases in Durham and Wigan.

Paul Taylor, the group director, said: "The move to Century Way, Thorpe Park signals a new phase of expansion for us, coinciding as it does with the launch of our new division, Sirius drilling services, which adds to our existing Sirius geotechnical and environmental and Sirius remediation divisions. The new building is in a key strategic location, with great motorway links providing easy access to our Yorkshire client base."

Sirius is carrying out reclamation and remediation work on the site of the former Earth Centre in Conisbrough, near Doncaster, for site owner Pearson Developments. There are plans to build houses on the site once the four month scheme is finished.

Recently, the Sirius team helped to re-open a disused hotel close to the site, which was used as temporary shelter for the flood victims. Sirius also began remediation works at the former Brook Compton factory in Guiseley, near Leeds, last week. It is Sirius's second visit to the site - they carried out the demolition work last year their client, St Modwen plans to build houses there.
